seem to be inferiorAug 27, 2010 I should have done more research into these walking exercise tools prior to buying them. These appear to be inferior. The height adjustment is only possible in fairly wide increments, which makes them less flexible. Small variations are useful for altering the exercise slightly, and for using them on different terrains. The wrist straps appear to be second-rate, nothing more than uncomfortable canvas, which is unfortunate because on the back-end of the movement, the pole partly hangs by the strap. One isn't supposed to grip the pole at all times. The straps are also very hard to adjust, which conflicts with the requirement that the poles be 'put on' the hand. Check youtube for demonstrations of pole walking technique, and you will readily see that these poles sold by "Power" are pretty bad.

Walking with Balance AssistJun 18, 2010 Both my husband and I walk farther, longer, and with a greater feeling of safty using our walking poles. 1. We get an upper body workout at the same time. 2. I am 76, he is 82; we both fear falling and our balance is not as good as it was - but with the walking poles we have the support we need to feel confidant that we can head out for a walk without the fear of a fall. (And yes, everyone tells us, "It's summer, no snow!")Adjustable Walking Poles - Exercise

Real workoutApr 13, 2010 These poles truly make you work harder than just walking. To get into a cadence you feel the need to go faster. I have not done it enough to see physical results just a harder burning feeling that lasts past finishing up. I have walked many years and try to go at least 3.5 miles per hour. I feel I am going faster and I finish up my appointed rounds quicker than just walking. Adjustable Walking Poles - Exercise

Walking polesJan 07, 2010 The walking poles definately add to my workout and I feel like I did more with my walk. They took a little time to get used to, but once I did, I enjoyed them. These poles are adjustable, fit my short frame and made well.
